"Dwelling Places for the Heart"

an Insight Dialogue Day Long Retreat

led by

Sharon Beckman-Brindley

In the Mahanama Sutta, the Buddha teaches us how to cultivate the mind and heart so that we have a fertile ground for true, deep and lasting awakening from the trance of suffering. In this day long retreat, we will practice silent meditation and the contemplations of Insight Dialogue as we together explore this teaching, awakening in ourselves both deeper encouragement and practical and personal guidance for navigating the mind's daily confusions and struggles.

Insight dialogue is a meditation practice in which we explore our moment-to-moment experience while meditating in dialogue with others.  This relational practice can open us to perceive and understand things that are normally overlooked in our own personal perceptions. Meditating together, we discover and investigate the mind's constructing nature and its great potential for awareness and for freedom.

Chairs will be provided. Bring a meditation cushion if you would like.  Please bring a bagged lunch.

Registration fee: $20.
The Registration fee will cover the actual costs of the retreat. There will be an opportunity at the retreat to offer Dana for Sharon.

Scholarships available, please contact Judy Harmon, opsdirector@imeditation.org, to inquire.
