Hiya! Thanks for dropping by and considering this volunteer opportunity.
Since its debut show in 2014, This Is My Brave (TIMB) as a non-profit has been providing a literal stage for individuals to bravely stand up and voice their own true story of recovery from mental illness or addiction. In order to gain broader outreach, TIMB is currently enlisting local community members to serve as a production team to bring the show to its town. I applied for CVille to be one of the towns; city selections will be this fall.
If CVille is deemed a good fit, it will take a year to bring the show to production in fall 2022. During that time, a team of 6-8 local citizens, me included, will volunteer between 5-10 hours a week towards fundraising, marketing, cast auditions, and much more. It is no insignificant feat. TIMB will provide production training and be a consistent, integral partner in the process. We will not be alone in the feat.
The aim is for a diverse production team with the requisite skills to create a show that reflects the diversity of CVille in cast individuality, mental illness diagnosis, and performance genre. Passion to the cause of breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness by talking openly and vulnerably is a must as is a drive and dedication to bring this amazing opportunity to a city that has suffered so much trauma. Proceeds from the show will go to a local community organization of our choosing.
The production team positions are described in the attached document. If you are interested and want to learn more, hit me up here or drop me a message at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are supportive, but do not have the time, please consider reaching out to those in your circle who might fit the bill and send them my way for production team selections.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. This Is My Brave is a transformative experience for everyone involved. I hope we can make it happen here.
Cheers! :)Lisa W
