We will dedicate our next session on Sunday, September 27th, to going outside and doing some simple practices to introduce our kids to the Five Elements — Space, Fire, Earth, Air, and Water — as they are conceived of, and meditated on, in the Buddhist traditions. By being sensitive to, and inspired by, the elements both in nature and in our psyches, we can draw new sustenance from being outside in nature. In these times of being so 'locked down' and our social lives curtailed, these kinds of exercises are proving beneficial to many.
And so we plan to meet on the 27th, either at Mint Springs Park or Wild Rock nature center, both in Crozet, where we will do socially-distant — but full of dynamic heart energy! — activities, around the elements. We will pick a rain date, too, just in case.
