Compassionate Presence

How we welcome unwanted feelings-irritation, resentment, grief- begins not with relying on the cognitive mind to fix or excise the unwanted emotion but with welcoming, deep listening, allowing a feeling its space...just what we'd offer in being with a troubled friend.

With receiving compassionate presence practice we repeatedly experience what it's like to be held in love and care-to be seen, related to in our deep worth. Receiving compassion, we are then able to relate to others in their deep worth, beyond anyone's limiting thoughts, experiencing ourselves and others as not separate, all fully textured beings who share wishes for happiness.

NOTE: The talk is at 7:30, followed by guided compassion practice meditation from 8-8:30. All are welcome. Teacher: Teresa Miller
