Expanding Light Sangha has been a part of the Insight Meditation Community of Charlottesville since January 2021. 

Our MISSION is to prioritize young adult and middle-aged practitioners by leaning into the voices and energy of an age group that is less visible in many Sanghas. We share in a Dharma-focused circular format with collaborative leadership and member-led practice. We strive to cultivate a diverse and inclusive community of practitioners.

We welcome a wide range of dharma-related practice as we continue to honor the ultimate source of our community as tracing back to our Buddhist Asian ancestors.

Newcomers are a gift to our community. If you are newer to meditation know that you are invited to make any adjustment you need during meditation (i.e open you eyes, walk around, etc). Being together with whatever is here is our practice.
