Are We There Yet, Mommy?
In this tumultuous election season, many of us wish we were already there, that the campaign were over. And now, just one more week! But the deep-seated issues that have given rise to the campaign aren’t going to disappear after the elections. There is no “there” there. For all its disruption, the campaign has highlighted the importance of spiritual practice, of showing up and honoring in our daily activities the highest qualities that we know. After a guided meditation, Susan Stone surveys three key areas, the practice of which helps us “become the change we wish to see in the world,” as Gandhi said, and promotes peace within us as well as in our community. An evening for all, especially if you have been distressed by this campaign season.
