9-11 Reflections
This is our regular Tuesday meeting offering a guided meditation followed by a talk and discussion. The evening is suitable for both seasoned and beginning meditators.
September 11, 2001 is a date that marks all of us. This evening will be devoted to reflections on the events of that day and ensuing years from the perspective of our spiritual practice.
During the weeks leading up to the tenth anniversary we are experiencing all manner of remembrance. More than 50 TV shows and countless print media, radio talk shows and internet blogs run the entire spectrum of calls for peace and reconciliation to expressions of hatred and revenge.
The Buddha's first element of the Eightfold Noble Path is Wise View. How can we work with the powerful myriad of emotions and thoughts churned up by 9-11 while holding it all in a wise perspective?
Pat Coffey will lead this session and discussion.
