Guided Meditation and Dharma Talk
by Sharon Beckman-Brindley
Someone once approached the Buddha with a question about tangles: ‘A tangle within, a tangle without, people are entangled in a tangle… Who can untangle this tangle?” In response, the Buddha offered both great compassion for human suffering and clear teachings about how to bring skillful and appropriate qualities of heart and mind to the tangles themselves. Like a wise physician, he noted that each person's difficulties required careful discernment and unique interpretations and applications of general principles. In tonight's talk, we'll continue last week's inquiry as we explore further together how to make the Buddha's teachings uniquely our own, gently deepening our individual skill at applying the teachings directly and personally to our own particular circumstances and challenges.
