Guided Meditation and Dharma Talk with Teresa Miller

Tuesday, May 21st, 2024, 7 – 8:30 PM

We are meeting in person at 717 Rugby Rd in the Unitarian Universalist sanctuary and on Zoom.

Entering Into the Vastness
“Our Way is not difficult, save the picking and choosing.”
(Seng-Ts’an, 6th century Zen monk)

Practice isn’t a matter of changing or improving the conditions of your inner or
outer life; it’s a way of wholehearted welcome, of appreciating those conditions
without reservation, especially the challenging ones of impermanence and loss.
When you practice, “the time becomes ripe” which seems to imply a “later” (like
an apple gradually ripening over the summer). Even so, time is always ripe -
because time is always existence, impermanence, change, growth, loss.
This curious, mysterious, perplexing process has been called Buddha Nature -
where impermanence is permanent, the ongoing process of living and dying. And
where permanence is cessation, relief, joy - the ever-changing field of practice.
