Absolute Cooperation with the Inevitable is the definition that Jesuit priest and spiritual teacher Anthony de Mello gives for enlightenment or freedom. Freedom is not a state that we need to reach or attain—rather it is a relationship of acceptance, of nonresistance, with our experience and our lives.

Out of an open-hearted relationship with what is, wise and compassionate action in the world flows naturally. And as the Buddha taught 2,500 years ago—and as modern neuroscience is confirming—we can train our minds and change our brains through mindfulness and meditation to live with greater ease and well-being in the midst of life's joys and sorrows.

Tonight's teacher,  Hugh Bryne from the Insight Meditation Community of Washington, D.C., will lead us in a guided meditation followed by a  dharma talk.

Everyone is welcome. Please join us.
