"IMCC'S SOCIALLY-ENGAGED EVENT ON TUESDAYS:" A Community-Building Activity for IMCC's Socially-Engaged Buddhism Month--
Three Free Tues. Evening Workshops: "Co-Creating Recycled Arts & Crafts for Dec. 7th Holiday Re-Gift Sale"--
A Community Service Fundraiser for IMCC's Adults & Teens Meditation Retreat Scholarships
ACTIVITIES: We'll begin our art-making with a warm-up of 15-20 minutes of loving-kindness meditation integrated with heart-flow yoga as we set an intention to open our mind-body-hearts with generosity to mindfully co-create more eco-friendly, sustainable and green holiday gifts.
Participants are encouraged to bring household materials with some redeeming artistic merit (that would otherwise be trashed) to recycle, re-design for make-overs for various products and not limited to origami mobiles, home-made journals, jewelry, plant pots, watercolor- framed paintings, scroll hangings, lamp shades, even toys, etc. (using acrylic paints, recycled papers, natural-found objects, fabrics cardboard and more). A variety of art supplies and recycled materials will also be provided.
For IMCC's scholarship fundraiser, finished products will be displayed at JABA on Tues., Dec. 7th for a Holiday Donation/Sale Bazaar.
No experience is necessary.
