I am very excited to announce that at our White Hall Mediation Zoom session on Wednesday, June 9, Ven. Bhikkhu Bodhi, Chairperson of the Board of Directors and Kim Behan, Executive Director, will be giving us a program on Buddhist Global Relief. As noted on the website, "Guided by Buddhist teachings, we strive to relieve chronic hunger and malnutrition worldwide."
Our session will begin at 7 PM EDT and end at 8:30. The Zoom logon information is below. I hope that you can join us.
Bhikkhu Bodhi will lead us in meditation and then he and Kim will discuss their work.
Ven. Bhikkhu Bodhi is an American Buddhist monk originally from New York City. He holds a BA in philosophy from Brooklyn College (1966), and a PhD in philosophy from Claremont Graduate University (1972). He received novice ordination in Sri Lanka in 1972 and full ordination in 1973. He was formerly the editor and president of the Buddhist Publication Society in Kandy, Sri Lanka. He returned to the U.S. in 2002 and now resides at Chuang Yen Monastery. He is president of the Buddhist Association of the United States (2013–present). He is a prolific translator from the Pali Canon, the most ancient collection of Buddhist scriptures.
