Fall 2024 online course: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) - Mondays, Oct. 21 - Dec. 16

Most of us find ourselves “swept away” at times by currents of thoughts and feelings, worries, pressures, responsibilities. We can feel stuck, wanting things to be different from how they are right now.

Becoming aware of our thoughts, feelings and sensations, in a way that suspends judgment and self-criticism, can have surprising results. Many people report finding inner strengths and resources that help them make wiser decisions about their health and life in general.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) enables us to experience life more fully - by developing the ability to see ourselves more kindly, the present moment more fully.

MBSR, first offered in 1980, is now taught in every state in the U.S. and in more than 30 countries. MBSR classes are experiential with instruction in meditation, gentle mindful movement, and multiple other practices, all guided by a skilled instructor. Teresa Miller will teach the online UVA Mindfulness Center Fall 2024 course.
