We are meeting in person at 717 Rugby Rd in the Unitarian Universalist sanctuary and on Zoom.
The End of Suffering But Not of Pain
The Buddha stated, “I teach suffering and the cessation of suffering”. His teachings offer pathways for insight and the reduction of the experience of suffering. But he did not teach the cessation of pain, much as that would have been welcomed.Pain is an unavoidable aspect of life. It is not always clear, though, if what we are experiencing is pain or suffering. We will spend some time this evening considering how pain and suffering are different in their presentations and on how we might respond to each.
