IMCC is offering an Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation Course for 6 weeks from February 11 - March 18 on Wednesday evenings, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at the Unitarian Church Parlor Room.

Offerings will include strategies for establishing a meditation practice, fundamental mindfulness meditation practices, sharing and processing with group members, and strategies and resources to sustain a meditation practice.

The class will be facilitated by Phil “Flip” Dupont, who has served as an IMCC Practice Leader and has been an active member of IMCC for over 16 years.

Substantial information about getting started with meditation is available on the IMCC website, (www.imeditation.org).  Go to the Resources tab on the Home page, and check the information under the Path of Practice and Meditation 101 tabs.  There is also a Links tab to check other resources.

This course is for you if you have been wanting to get started with meditation and tend to benefit from structure and support in starting a new habit.

This course may not be for you if you are experiencing ongoing psychological difficulties and/or traumatic sequelae, or if you are in the midst of working through significant psychological issues.  While meditation practice can support and complement psychotherapy, it can be extremely challenging to get started with meditation in the midst of psychological distress.

As a commitment to making our programs accessible, we have a sliding fee scale. Please choose the payment option you feel most comfortable with. IMCC is funded completely by donations from our community.

If you want more information about the course, of if you are in need of financial assistance and would like a scholarship, contact opsdirector@imeditation.org
