End

Location
Insight Meditation Society, Barre MA
This course is an introduction to and support for the practice of concentration (
samatha
in Pali) as taught by Burmese meditation master Pa Auk Sayadaw. As we cultivate concentration, we develop purification, tranquility and equanimity. These qualities prepare the ground for penetrating insight into the nature of existence. Open to new and experienced meditators, the retreat consists of alternate periods of sitting and walking meditation and small group and individual practice interviews. Support for extended sittings will also be available.
